Niedergesteln as the a Knight's Village
The little residence in the Rhone's valley located between Gampel-Steg and Raron-Visp, with its great history, resumes itself with tradition and innovation.
Niedergesteln was probably used by savoyard merchants in the 11thcentery as a commercial place. The name "Niedergesteln" is composed of two terms; "Nieder", meaning "lower", "which is below", and "Gesteln", which means castle, fortress, and palace in Latin.
